Sealing Ability of Esthetic Post and Core Systems.
نویسنده
چکیده
AIM To review the literature on the sealing ability of esthetic post systems with different cementation techniques. BACKGROUND An important factor for successful root canal treatment is the development of a coronal seal to the treated root canal system. Review result: The current literature describes promising results using fiber posts with a dual-cure, self-etch resin cement system. However, none of the published results describe a post system or cementation technique that achieved a homogeneous and tight coronal seal. CONCLUSION Fiber post systems appear to be favorable alternatives to metallic or ceramic post systems. Furthermore, dual-cure, self-etch resin cement systems represent superior alternatives to other cement systems. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE The clinician should be aware of the differences between various post systems and different cement systems to select and apply the most appropriate post and cement in each clinical situation.

In-vitro Sealing Ability of Calcium Enriched Mixture Cement Versus Amalgam as Retrograde Filling Materials
Introduction: Sealing ability of a retrograde filling material is an important factor for a successful endodontic apicoectomy. The purpose of this in-vitro study was to compare the sealing ability of calcium enriched mixture (CEM) cement versus amalgam as root-end filling materials. Methods: A total of 36 canals of extracted maxillary central incisors were instrumented and obturated using later...
متن کاملThe Progression of Dental Adhesives A Peer-Reviewed Publication Written by Ara Nazarian, DDS
There has been dramatic progression in the adhesion of dental adhesives and resins to enamel and dentin in the 40 years since Buonocore1 introduced the technique of etching enamel with phosphoric acid to improve adhesion to enamel. The first dental adhesives bonded resins to enamel only, with little or no dentin adhesion. Subsequent generations have dramatically improved bond strength to dentin...
متن کاملInfluence of Different Esthetic Post and Core Materials on Color of Ips Empress 2 Ceramic Crowns
Background and aim: Studies as to the evaluation of clinically relevant color assessment of full ceramic restorations supported by esthetic post and core materials has not been found in the related literature. Thus, this study is conducted to evaluate the color difference of Empress 2 ceramic crowns restored with 4 different esthetic post systems and two different core materials by using colori...

Fabricating a restoration which can serve clinically long term without any sign of complication and fulfill the functional and esthetic requirement is very hard to achieve in excessivelly damaged tooth especially when it is in the esthetic zone. The following case report presents an alternate method for the treatment of excessively damaged tooth which can diminish the ability of complication in...
متن کاملThe Effect of Thickness on Sealing Ability of Calcium Enriched Cement as a Coronal Seal Barrier
Abstract Introduction: Thickness of a coronal seal barrier is an important factor for preventing microleakage. The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the sealing ability of two different thicknesses of calcium Enriched Mixture (CEM) cement as a coronal seal barrier. Methods: A total of 40 canals of extracted maxillary central incisors were instrumented and obturated using lateral compa...
